Import a subscription URL
A subscription link is an account credential, so decide who may see it before you paste it anywhere. This covers where the import happens, what usually blocks it, and the step people forget afterwards.
Treat the link like a password
The link usually carries a token, and anyone holding it pulls the same node list while the provider cannot tell you apart. That keeps it out of group chats, public help threads and screenshots.
If you post a screenshot to ask for help, mask the address bar and the profile name together — some providers write an account identifier into the name. Moving to a new device means copying the link from the provider panel again, not forwarding it to yourself over chat.
Pasting it on the Profiles page
Open the Profiles page, paste the whole link into the field at the top and confirm it, choosing the remote subscription type rather than a local file. A card appears within a few seconds showing the name, remaining traffic and expiry date.
Traffic and expiry come from headers the provider sends, so a blank there is not a failed import. What matters is whether the card appeared and whether the node list behind it has anything in it.
If the link leaks, strangers spend your bandwidth and nothing identifies them. Once it has been posted somewhere, regenerate it in the provider panel — deleting the message achieves nothing.
What to check when the import fails
Suspect the link first. Copying from a chat app tends to add leading or trailing spaces and line breaks, long links get truncated at a wrap, and some input methods swap plain quotes for typographic ones. Clear the field, paste once more, and confirm it starts with https and ends where it should.
Otherwise look at the environment. A wrong system clock breaks the TLS handshake, and virtual machines or long-suspended laptops are the usual victims. When the current network cannot reach the provider, a phone hotspot settles the question in one try. Some providers accept only a specific User-Agent and return empty content otherwise, which you can set in the profile settings.
Importing is not the last step
A card on screen only means the file downloaded and parsed, not that it is in use. Click the card to make it the current profile, then open the Proxies page — importing without selecting is the classic "installed it and nothing happened".
Proxies works in two levels: pick a policy group, then pick a node inside it. After that turn on the system proxy or TUN, otherwise the browser never goes through the client at all. A latency test inside the group tells you whether the path is actually alive.
